Kongsfjord - one of the cosiest fishingvillages in Finnmark

Lovisenborg quay is situated in the middle of the fishing village Kongsfjord in Berlevåg municipality. Kongsfjord has today about 30 inhabitants, but before the war there were over 20 active fisheries.

Kongsfjord was one of the few places that weren´t burnt or bombed during the second world war. As a result of that, the fishing village has several buildings from the time before 1940.

The recession came in the middle of the 1980s when there was a huge depopulation from the fishing village. In recent years it has become more popular to buy vacation homes in Kongsfjord, and the population has risen somewhat. In the summer there is an open cafe in the village.

About 2 km north of Kongsfjord lies Veines where Kongsfjord guesthouse offers accomodation and serves food. The closest city centre you will find in Berlevåg, about 32 km north of Kongsfjord. Here you will find shops, gas station, doctor and dentist. Berlevåg also has an airport and Hurtigruta makes a stops here. It is a nice country store in Kongsfjord that sells food and has a small cafe (about 400 meters from the house)
